Calvin Crichton, Dr. TCM, Instructor

Dr. Calvin Crichton first became involved in Traditional Asian medicine through his life long study of Japanese and Chinese martial arts. Many of the martial arts systems he has studied over the past 40 years incorporate varying degrees of alternative medicine into their curriculum. As a result, it was only natural that Calvin begin to pursue a more formalized training in this field.

His background includes over 2000 hours of acupressure training, one diploma from the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese medicine, two Dr. TCM diplomas from both the Canadian College of Acupuncture and TCM in Bedford, Nova Scotia and the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver. Further to this Calvin received a Traditional Japanese medicine Menkyo Kaiden (PHD equivalent) diploma from the Nippon Isshinho Nokkan Igakube in Toyama, Japan after several years undertaking a mentorship program.

Finally, Calvin has also had advanced training in Auricular Medicine under the direct tutelage of Dr. Li Chun Huang receiving a Master of Auricular Medicine diploma in that discipline.

Stella Hu obtained her bachelor degree in Spacecraft Design from Beijing University of Aeronautic and Astronautic in 1998. Stella Hu later apprenticed Acupuncture, Moxibustion, He Style San Tong Acupuncture therapy and medical Qigong to Master Jia Shusen who is the inner circle disciple of Professor He Puren as well as the president of the Beijing Ba Gua Zhang Research Institute. Stella even majored in acupuncture, moxibustion and Chinese Massage in Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for further study, and became registered TCM doctor in 2007. Stella came to Canada in 2009 and passed TCM DoctorExams held by CTCMA British Columbia Canada in 2013. Now she practices at Acu-bridge Clinic, and specializes in pain syndrome, sports injury, and gynecological diseases. Stella loves Chinese Martial Arts since her childhood. Dr. Henry graduated from Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor degree of Chinese Medicine in 2010. He further obtained his Master degree of Chinese Medicine in Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013. In 2020, he completed a PhD degree of TCM Gynecology in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, under the supervision of Professor SongPing Luo, a leading professional in TCM gynecology and obstetrics in Southern China who expertise in treating infertility.

Dr. Henry was registered and actively practiced as a TCM practitioner in Hong Kong since 2010. He also served as a supervising consultant of Health Plus Magazine and an instructor of Employees Retraining Board in Hong Kong. During her studies Ling also had the opportunity to intern at Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital in Taiwan.

Where she learned from various doctors such as special Tuina techniques in traumatology, herbal prescriptions for chronic skin disease, and allergic rhinitis. Dr Li’s lifelong goal is to provide patients with the best integrated and personalized medical treatments.

Dr. Li gained her M.D. degree from the medical school of Peking University and worked as a physician at the People’s Hospital in Beijing. After coming to Canada, she focused her studies on the human immune system and received her Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. During her pursuit of broader and deeper study of the human body, the profound understanding of human energy networks and the amazing healing power offered by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) deeply impressed her. In 2012, Dr. Li gained her acupuncture license and herbal license later.

Kevin Lu graduated from Guangzhou University of TCM in double-major of TCM/acupuncture with a degree of bachelor of medicine. He started practicing TCM and acupuncture in Vancouver since 2003 and used to teach various TCM and acupuncture courses in the Western Canadian Institution of TCM and Acupuncture for four years. Currently Kevin Lu is the president of TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists Society (Western Canadian Region).
